Equal Rights for Women

Posted by Audi Fastia at 6:03 PM 0 comments
Russian women started to gain equality earlier than women in the United States. In the former Soviet Union, men and women had access to equal education and job opportunities, because it reflected the Soviet philosophy. As soon as the 1937 Soviet constitution declared that women and men had equal rights and responsibilities, women joined the workforce. Also, when millions of Russian men were away in the military during World War II, so Russian women filled their places at work. Although Soviet women worked full time at their jobs, they also had the primary responsibility for taking care of the family. After they finished their work, they had to chop, cook the evening meal, and perhaps wash, iron, or mend the family's clothes. U.S women started to demonstrate that they could do the work of men during World War II.

Characters, Family, and Ethics

Posted by Audi Fastia at 1:52 AM 0 comments

Every country has different types of characters, family, and ethics that make it unique. Usually, westerners are much more independent than the easterners. America’s bond and chemistry among the group of the families are not as tight as the Asian. Although we can’t be stereotyped about everything, most of the facts proved to be so. Here is my experience of the family I live with in Indonesia.
Being the only child in my family sets me apart from others. Generally, people with many siblings often ask me whether I feel lonely or not. As for me, I have a special way to define the term “lonely” in my life. I feel lonely when I’ve got nothing to do. Therefore, I always make myself busy with various activities. That’s a good habit developed by the help and enthusiasm of both of my parents. When I tell others that I’m the only child, what comes first in their minds is how my parents spoil me too much. In this case, I strongly disagree. I grow up in a tough environment. Although I know definitely that my parents love me so much, they do not want to show it that much to me. They shape my mind to be strong and proactive. Instead of sweetening my mind with full of love, they show me how the real world is. It is very important for me to face many challenges and how my character and ethics could help me struggle in life.
It seems hard for me at first, but as time goes by; I concluded that my parents teach me what’s best for me. After all, they remind me that I am not alone in this world. I could make friends that I could rely on whenever I have problems. By having such parents in my life, I believe that parents are the greatest gift God ever give to me.

Note-taking tactics

Posted by Audi Fastia at 6:57 AM 0 comments
After a while, I'm coming back to write this blog. And this time, professionally.
The purpose? to accomplish a high score in my Academic English
Never before I ever thought that blogging is a very useful thing to do until my teacher said that by blogging, you can promote yourself and maybe someday there's a job lying in front of you because of your interesting topics that you mention in your blog.

At the second week of my campus life, my teacher taught me about the tactics in note-taking.
They are considered to play an essential parts because most of the times the lecturers will speak too fast and the students are not able to record everything that the teacher have said.
So, here's my note based on the recording played in the class
Can you guess which type of tactics that I used?
For all of you that have attended mind-mapping class before, definitely you can answer my question.
Yes, it is called a linear method.
And there are 2 basic methods to record notes:
1. Spyderweb
2. Linear

Personally I choose to use the linear method because it is easier for me to classify all the groups and point out the essential points that I should include in my notes.

Happy note-taking everyone! :D

Anyway, we call it play days.

Starting with bicycling around the complex

On the second day there.. we went to michael resorts-bogor. It's a very looooooong journey from bogor. 27 km from the town itself! wuowww but the weather is nice it's kinda like a cold breeze in Puncak.
Why do we went there? to visit another best friend of us.. Rena Gracia Sugianto
A journey won't be complete without foods.

Fried banana filled with cheese
rendang
and amazingly delicious home-made shabu sabu :9

In the end, girls should do their chores by washing a pile of dishes

While boys playing wii-football games. It's kinda unfair, huh?

overall, we had amazingly memorable time there.

More of the fun and the joy

Culture tour at old town

Posted by Audi Fastia at 6:21 AM 0 comments

For every sweats that u drop, it's worth it.
For every hard work that u did, there's a prize behind it.

Yes, my besties and I were very happy to hear the good news from our counseling teacher that we got the second place in the wall magazine competition.
Wanna see what it looks like? Hmmm maybe just the draft of our hard work before it's done
It's a world education wall magazine and my team got Singapore as our task.

So, here we come old town! Put on your seatbelt and here we go!
4 September 2010 08.00
We gather at school and from there, we ride Trans Jakarta and stopped at the old town station.
Actually there's 4 of us in my team, but 2 of them had the journey 2 months ago. So? who's left is me and ela. and of course Sir Hardi as our counseling teacher.
Unfortunatelly, the safety risk in Trans Jakarta is a bit challenging,so I can't take picture inside it.

First destination everybody, say hello to the train.TUT..TUT..TUT...

Have u ever heard of stasiun Jakarta kota? well, we captured the moment in front of it :)
Next stop: museum Fatahillah.
What is so famous about Indonesia? It's WAYANG :D
And of course it's money
That has its own history in Museum Bank Indonesia. Take a look at the first apparatus to make money
Ups, Mandiri bank museum is also attractive! Find out how our ancestors TYPE
History and memories last forever for they will never die. Warm hugs and kisses from us at old town!

Life as a puppeter

Posted by Audi Fastia at 3:15 AM 0 comments
Have u ever imagined to live a life as a puppeter? An opportunity one full day to live as a puppeter told me deeply about it.

"Chances do not come twice in ur life, so once u see it, make sure u grab it during the journey of ur life."

All black from head to toe. wondering why? Black light puppet.no teeth, no smile, just make sure that u r unseen by the others.

Puppets on both of your hands? Believe me, it's not as nice as u imagine.

But once you see the audiences smile,
Or laugh.. :D
And even put their hands up

Then u'll know that ur sacrification is worth it.
Cheers from the amazing crew!

XOXO,
Audi

Overcrowded Population

Let us see around
Either it is a developed country or a developing one
All of them look the same
Constant, no emotion, repeated actions...
Overcrowded population and overcrowded population
Makes people think that they will enjoy constant lives
Then, what will we do?
The answer is obvious
Live life to the fullest and enjoy every single moment that you have

Can you guess which town I described above?
Yes,everyone it's Jakarta

Butterfly Fly Away-Miley Cyrus

Posted by Audi Fastia at 10:11 PM 2 comments

You tucked me in, turned out the light

Kept me safe and sound at night
Little girls depend on things like that

Brushed my teeth and combed my hair
Had to drive me everywhere
You were always there when I looked back

You had to do it all alone
Make a living, make a home
Must have been as hard as it could be

And when I couldn't sleep at night
Scared things wouldn't turn out right
You would hold my hand and sing to me

Caterpillar in the tree
How you wonder who you'll be
Can't go far but you can always dream

Wish you may and wish you might
Don't you worry, hold on tight
I promise you there will come a day
Butterfly fly away

Butterfly fly away, butterfly fly away
Flap your wings now you can't stay
Take those dreams and make them all come true

Butterfly fly away, butterfly fly away
We've been waiting for this day
All along and knowing just what to do
Butterfly, butterfly, butterfly, butterfly fly away

Butterfly fly away
Butterfly fly away
© WALT DISNEY MUSIC COMPANY;

There are so many great songs in this world. They contain various lyrics and themes, such as:hope, love, peace and so many more. I really adore one of Miley Cyrus' songs which titled: "Butterfly Fly Away." Actually, she dedicated that song to her father. She really appreciates the works that her father had done to her, taught her in her life as a single parent. For me, this song really touches my heart because it tells about important roles of people in my life.

It inspires me of how the important people surrounds me such as my parents, my families, my friends and teachers have thought me from the beginning, that is as a "caterpillar." But as time goes by, I grew up by love to reach my dreams as a "butterfly" that flies away.

Bravo to both of u, Miley and Billy Ray Cyrus. <3

Music in me.Me in music

Have u ever heard "guzheng"? It's ok if this is the first time to hear or to read it bcs it's not an English term anyway :) Let me introduce u to a unique chinese musical instrument:
  • "Gu" 古 means ancient
  • "zheng" 箏 means zither
If u combine those words u might get confused. ancient zither? how does it look like?

Now u got my point? yes,it's a chinese harp.
I started to play Guzheng when I was 14 and at that time I joined the "Panda Guzheng Group"
Sadly, time flees so fast and I decided to get out from that group when I entered the first year of my senior high school.

What about now?
"If u love Guzheng, keep it in ur mind. Take it wherever and whenever u go in ur journey of life. Simply play it in ur spare times bcs Guzheng will never die. It's unique and  it gives u a sense of belonging in far far away country, China."

This picture is taken on 12th January 2010 in my church "GKI Puri Indah" to celebrate the uniqueness of eastern countries. Look how I blend in with the guitar and piano?

Audi

symphony of friendship

Posted by Audi Fastia at 6:59 AM 0 comments
Pls explain to me the term of friendship:

  • The tendency to desire what is best for the other
  • Sympathy and empathy
  • Mutual understanding and compassion
True, true. but let's keep it simple.

Let me introduce u to 2 of my dearest friends:
Wella "german Sheperd" and Bestow "Rough Collie"
  • Wella is a female German sheperd which is very active and her hobby is playing catch ball nice and cute and Smart! She loves to run in the field and not affraid of strangers.she's a lovely one
  • Bestow is a male rough collie, a little bit shy, but he is very cute, loves to run and play catch ball with me. *He will go straight to me if  I clap my hand calling him but when others clap their hands... he will come and watch, and realized that the person is not me and then go away*
Do not believe with the last statement about Bestow? well, take a look at the bond we've made each other :)

See? thx God I can have him as my dog.

XOXO,
Audi
